No one told me about the beautiful train station.

"Oh yeah, they have a beautiful station, but no one ever talks about this." says my friend as we weave our way to the subway station.

It was my first beautiful surprise, but I had to stop myself from staring too wide so that I wouldn't become a magnet for pickpockets. At least I had been warned about them.

This is what Italy does to me, leaving me in awe at something that is daily scenery for many.

Just like the TikTok videos, the Duomo di Milano greets you at the top of the stairs of the subway station exit. The details—I wasn't prepared for the details. This time, I clutched my bag for safety and then allowed my eyes to fully widen and my jaw to drop. The closer I got, the more I realized it's everything everyone said it would be and so much more! Make sure you check out the Museum too.

We made a quick stop at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (Milan's living room), full of luxury brands like Dior and Gucci. It always surprises me to see so many people shopping. I can't wait for the day when I can own a luxury brand item. It was too early in the morning for me to have a Campari, but the famous café was already full with both coffee and cocktail drinkers.

Next stop: Uniqlo. I wanted to see if it was worth all the hype. And wow, it really is! I was in there for an hour. I spent double what I intended to and then came back home to order more because I now had a good idea of the sizes. I got a helpful tip from a colleague to read the labels to ensure I was buying what I wanted and not what was being cleverly marketed.

We passed the Starbucks Reserve, where the line was extremely and ridiculously long. And there were big burly bouncers checking everyone's bags...I like my Frappuccinos too but Italy, in my humble experience, has great coffee bars.. and you're spoilt for choice.... there is almost atleast one on every street...

I caught a glimpse of the Castello Sforzesco entrance ...

We headed to the Brera District for lunch and finished the day with pizza, white wine, and people-watching. I have never seen so many luxury designer bags in my life. I spotted at least five Hermès bags within 30 minutes of each other. I would like to know if Milan is operating in the same economy as the rest of us....

Is Milan worth it? Yes, for the day, at least. I will be returning.

What happens when you realize all this time that you are not the problem?

I have been trying and failing to fix, adjust, adapt for other people's needs and expectations.

A friend's sincere words helped me understand it is not about me

Confirming your safety and imprinting your mind with let go and let God.

I went on holiday for five days. 

Destination: Napoli/Naples with a day visit to Pompei. 

Typical Italian summer heat, between 30° and 35° most days. 

I could only focus on keeping myself hydrated and enjoying my paid-for-adventure through streets, museums, churches, a castle, a monastery and an archeological site. 

Dedication to my weekly walking sessions prepared me for the 45,000 steps between the hotel, train stations and tourist attractions. 

I ate the best pizza of my life at 50 Kalo! Those pumpkin flowers are something.

Discovered that museum audio guides are the best introvert exploration devices ever invented! 

Everyday worries and fears were sidelined. 

While in deep discussion discovered that my healing journey is progressing much better than I thought and felt, because I stumbled on forgiveness after many years, waiting patiently to be activated.

So I set her on her way and carried on delighting in new sites, sounds and tastes.

After all, most of what scares me is out of my control whether I ruminate on it or not.

I, on the other hand, I am low energy.

I need to take leave but I have to wait until August. 

I moved into a new Airbnb this month , it has a lovely balcony and view of the mountains. I like to sit there in the mornings with my coffee or in the evenings with my dinner. 

The bathroom has a tub, so I have been enjoying Lush bubble bars and bath bombs. Most especially the milky bath, sleepy bubble bar, and deep sleep bath bomb. 

I am reeeeeally reeeeeady for my permanent home in Italy, I was disappointed last week when something didn't come through. I will keep praying and hoping about the process. the spirit of discernment is definitely needed. 

I reached 100 days of learning Italian on Duolingo! Clap for me....still can't utter a single sentence in public, not even a broken one and I always have to ask people to repeat what they said atleast 20 times but we will get there.

I had the best fried seafood at Eataly yesterday evening. Summer is here and the sun is still out and about after 9.00pm. Love it!

Work is a bit hectic right now probably contributing to my low energy, it will calm down soon though. 

I visited a church and it had the most amazing interior I have ever seen. I was tip toeing around taking my Instagram pictures with wide eyes and an open mouth. There were gold finishings everywhere! This was a small church though, so I don't know what I will do when I visit the Vatican. 

I am still glad I moved. Overall I am still enjoying this new life adventure!
